"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful , committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."  Margaret Mead.

The Rotaract Club of St Augustine engaged in a two part exercise lead by our Community Services Director Candyce Goundan to fight against littering in one of our most popular waterways: the Caura River. On Thursday 21st September we installed two signs in Caura River to discourage littering. One sign was installed in Pool One and the other in Pool Two. The signs were donated by Past Assistant Governor Azard Mohammed and the Tunapuna Piarco Regional Corporation sponsored the metal poles and provided the labour to erect the signs. Following this, today Saturday 23rd September club members headed down to Caura River where we undertook a clean up exercise at Pool One & Two. We are proud to state that not a lot of garbage was found. Our hope is that our signs remind persons to clean up and dispose of their garbage after all the fun.
