Hemraj Ramdath

Beyond Indentureship Indo-Trinidadian Entrepreneurs

Hemraj Ramdath, a Canadian-based Business Consultant and researcher, has spent the past four decades working globally in the energy and fast- moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors. He began his career with the United Nations (ECLA) and thereafter, held executive positions with several multinational and regional corporations with responsibility for Strategy, Branding, Global Entry,
Innovation and Business Development. This included the position of Barbados Country Manager, with Shell Oil Company, VP Global Business with S.M. Jaleel & Co Ltd., VP Strategy, and Business Development at Petrotrin. He is currently engaged in the management of a Miami-based Distribution center supporting Caribbean brands into the North American market.

He has worked in 42 countries and lived in 5, (Trinidad, USA, South Africa, Canada, and Barbados). He holds a BA, combined honours in Political Science and Economics, and an Executive Masters of Business (EMBA).


He is a Charter member of the Rotary Club of Barbados South, a former member of the Rotary Club Port of Spain, a life member of the National Council. of Indian Culture (NCIC) and a board member of the Kathak Kala Sangam Inc., Trinidad.


He is passionate about building brands and working with companies to enter new markets and mentoring young entrepreneurs. He was a lecturer in business at Roytec TT, Centennial College in Canada and now with IUDI in Cameroon.


He is married to Sherry (who was a member of the Inner Wheel Club Barbados) and has two daughters, Ramona and Rehanna and 1 granddaughter, Sarina. He currently lives in Ottawa, Canada.

Dr. Natalie Suepaul

Discover the Power of ICT Integration in Enhancing Literacy and Numeracy in Early Childhood

Dr. Natalie Suepaul has been an educator for the past 31 years. She has spent most of her years working at the infant level in the primary school sector. She has earned her B.Ed. in ECCE, her M.Ed. in Curriculum Studies and her PhD which focuses on ICT integration in curriculum delivery in early childhood classrooms. She has engaged in research at the national level and has been exposed to training at the international level in the field of ECCE. She has mentored many young educators in the field of ECCE and stands firm in her belief that “Every child has the potential to succeed.” Dr. Suepaul is currently a Lecturer at the School of Education at The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus. She works with students at the Certificate Level, the B.Ed. Level and at the M. Ed Level. She also serves as a member of The UWI- FDCRC Board where her role is to oversee teaching and learning. At the FDCRC she works closely with the teachers to guide and provide the necessary support to ensure that the 3+ and 4+ students are engaged in developmentally appropriate practices. Natalie also devotes time to community service as she is an active member of Thunderbirds Sports and Cultural Club in the Sangre Grande region – a club which continues to promote healthy lifestyles, community unity and serving others selflessly. Dr. Suepaul’s passion resides in the integration of ICT for young children’s development and the promotion of literacy and numeracy skills in young learners. She has had opportunities to engage in and advocate for read aloud activities with children locally and internationally. It is her hope that in forging ahead during these unprecedented times, new initiatives will continue to be implemented which will allow individuals to become literate and develop the 21st century skills necessary for living in a technology-based global village.
