The Rotary Club of St Augustine recently celebrated its’ 50th Anniversary as a Chartered Rotary Club.  At the 50th Annual Handing Over Ceremony, held at The UWI Inn and Conference Centre, newly installed President, Maria Mohammed-Maharaj - the second female in the Club’s history to hold this position - noted that this significant milestone will be highlighted during the new Rotary year, with the continuation of the 50th Anniversary Eye Project, that started under Immediate Past President, Balraj Kelly. 
     This project, a partnership between the Rotary Club of St Augustine, Caribbean Eye Institute and Medical Associates Hospital, provides much needed eye surgeries to patients who could not afford these procedures. The Club will also execute projects during the year, under Rotary International’s Areas of Focus for Literacy as well Economic and Community Development.
 
  The annual Fundraising activities for the year will be:
  1. The 8th Annual Golf for Life that takes place on Saturday 29th September, 2018 in aid of Heartbeat International Trinidad & Tobago and other charities;
  2. The 28th Annual Carnival Fete for Life – Saturday 23rd February, 2019 in aid of charitable projects;
  3. 50th Anniversary Gala Fundraiser in aid of charitable projects (2019).
